Default do it yourself gel seat?

Ok I know after reading this forum for over a year there has to be some brave bikers that have ordered gel pads and added to their stock seat, thinking of doing this myself, give me the pros and cons good outcomes and bad one to help me make up my mind, like most on here i do all my own wrenching I can, so I am just not handing over $500.00 for a seat I can set on for more than an hour at a time

the pros and cons ? well...the pros are hopefully no monkey butt and saving that $500. The cons are the work involved, which is not that tough.
check it out.... Seat Mod - 650CCND.COM
you could also get that gel pad and insert it in the seat. I think the best way would be to use a electric carving knife to get the right fit.

I added a gel insert to my stock seat last year. I sell medical equipment for a living and have access to soem very high grade gel pads. While the seat was better than stock (more tolerable really), IMO it didn't compare to the Mustang seat I know have. No comparison at all actually.

Some people have had great results adding gel to their stock seats, but the main problem that gel cannot deal with is support and positioning. The gel pad will help alleviate the bumps and such you experiance, and will likley be more ocmfortable than stock. But in my years of dealing with wheelchair cushions, and from years of my "butt-dyno' their is no replacement for a good supportive, well positioning seat.

Personally, I would never be without a Mustang seat again.

Is it just me that thinks the seat on my 07 Vulcan 1500 Classic is just fine? It's softer than any other seat I've seen in its class. I had an Ultimate Seat on my Suzuki C50, but after several hours in the saddle, I think your rear is gonna hurt no matter what!

You are probably right I just want another hour or so without numb butt
I will either try a gel insert or just stop every 2 hours
