Default Definite Click noise upon acc/decel

    Hi:
While I am aware the Vulcan 900 is a noisy beast, I was wondering if someone could tell me the origination of the "click" noise , apparently at front of engine upon acceleration/deceleration of throttle. It sounds like a throttle slide; however, I am not sure if this is normal. It is a single click sound and is readily apparent while standing still.
Just looking to ensure I do not have a bike 2008 900LT with a peculiar noise that I should do something about.
    Thanks,
    John

Check the chain Just a thought Gets noisy as hell if it is loose. Not sure if you have a chain though

No chain. 900LT is belt driven and noise is coming from throttle entry into engine.

It's a solenoid of some sort. Not sure of the particulars, though the clicking is normal.

I figured it was something that was normal; however, I just wanted to ensure that was the case. Thanks for your information.

It is the check valve for the air pump.

I've been told it's normal but it does get annoying. I hear it all the time. From the time I turn the bike on until I turn it off.

Thanks so much for the specific information. Glad to know the sound is normal, although a bit annoying at times. Again, many thanks.

I heard from the dealer that it is something in the fuel injection and is completely normal. Mine does it too.

    Scott:
Thanks for your information. I figured this was normal and probably compounded with CA emissions. Again, thanks.

I've had my 900 for about 2 weeks now, and I just noticed this same noise for the first time this morning. So I did a few searches and found this thread. Saved me a trip to the dealer. Thanks guys.
