Talking Ordered my WOC fairing and speedo

I placed my order for the WOC fairing and aftermarket speedo. I can't wait until they get here so I can install.

Wish me luck!!

Wide Open Custom Plastic, LLC

Product Details: Acewell 2853 Speedometer Computer Aluminum Chrome - S - ElectroSport Industries

And thank you so much for all your help Rich! You were great with all your information and pictures.

Take care all and I hope the weather this weekend is better than what it was this week. Happy riding all!

Before shots attached! Will definitely need the hard bags and Mustang seat too.

Good Luck with your upcoming install. I've been following the various threads concerning fairings and the Wide Open products look good. Out of curiousity did you order one with or without the audio system?

Take pictures during as well as after the install!!!

Ride safe and often.

Just got mine in, be careful trying to bolt up the windshield. I hadn't even gotten the middle bolt tighten and the shield cracked all the way up. Looks like I'll have to order another.

Wo... I didn't even know these things were made in plastic. Anyreason to go plastic over fiberglass (or the other way around)?

Looks good though and it looks like they have them for the V2K, thus far the only fairing I've found for the V2K is the Quadzilla, which looks really good, but I don't like their mounting system (band clamps).

Corbin makes one too... Color matched and everything... If ya have to ask ya cant afford it

I also dont recall that the Corbin can hold a radio.

I like that this one pops on and off. So for long trip I could have it on, and then switch to the stock, or none for around town.

How much is painting it gonna cost?

So, the fairing came in today. It looks awesome!!! I like it a lot. I had to use 2 inch spacers to get it mounted because my forks are only 11" wide and the inner of the brackets I received is 15". But even with the spacers it is extremely stable.

No, I did not order the audio system with it. Since it will be going on my bike, I opted to go with an audio system that I feel is more of a quality choice. I am getting the Pioneer DEH-P4000 with Polk Audio 5" speakers.

I will post pictures once it is all painted and installed. I only fit it to the bike with the mounts so far. By the way, I am mounting it to the Memphis Fats mounts that I had gotten for my Memphis Fats shield. I got 3" bolts to fit, a couple washers, and the spacer. It works pretty nice. The only thing I don't like is my headlight sits about 2" too far back. I am going to need to get me a different headlight and I'll probably upgrade it from a 7" to a 9" headlight.

But all in all, I am very excited to get it painted and mounted. I should have it back next week and I'll post some pictures.

Also, thanks for the warning on the shield. They have included a letter in the packaging about the change in material on the shield and also included some rubber washers to help with the crack possibilities.

Happy riding!

Painting it WAS going to cost me around $250. However, I had a major gas leak issue that totally bubbled off my paint on my tank (my stupidity). So, I am getting the entire bike painted....

BTW - that speedo I ordered (Total cost shipped $161) is awesome especially if you have one of the older bikes that doesn't have the speedo on the tank. I would highly recommend it. You might need to be a little bit experienced with wiring things, but all in all, it wasn't too difficult.

Except for the fuel issue I ran into....

So, here is what I decided to paint my bike. Costing me about $1,300. I can't wait to get it back. It'll probably be 2 weeks.

Note: Not actually my bike parts

So, Friday's the day!!! I get my bike back and will be putting everything back together. I am so excited after almost 3 beautiful weeks. Going through some major withdrawals....

I didn't end up getting a new headlight. I went ahead and fabricated some mounts to extend it out about 3-4 inches. It actually looks pretty good. Once the fairing is put on, you won't even notice the light being extended out.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Btw, whole bike painted for $1300, talked him down from like $1700. Does that sound reasonable?

Would like to see the spacers you make. Think you can take a couple of pictures?

I will certainly be taking some pictures. I didn't actually make the spacers. They are 2 inch steel pipe from Lowes that I sanded down and painted. I think they cost something like $1.04 per piece. They were already cut to length all I had to do was sand and paint. Add a 3 inch bolt and washers and you are all set.

Anyway, I'll get some pictures taken. I will start tonight with the bike completely naked.

Thanks,
