Default Anyone with V&H slashcuts....

How hard is it to remove the baffles on the slashcuts? Vulcan rider told me it was very very easy to do on the Cobra slashdowns, just wondering if it is that easy to do on the V&H.

It's easy as removing two small screws. But you should do it before they are installed or at least before the heat shields are put on.

Why before? Is it way harder to do after? If I get them I want to hear how they sound with em in before I decide if I need it louder or not.

Mine are strait shots but they are probably rather similar in "loudness". No way would I want to take the baffles out. V&H pipes w/ the baffles in are already quite loud.

Believe me when I say they are very loud with the baffles in. I had a set 4 a week and sold them. My ears could not take it.

Were you wearing a full face helmet???

I have some on mine and the resonated really bad with my full face, but now I ride in a lil skull cap, and I can't hardly hear them. So I'm going to take my baffles out and see how much louder it makes it.

When their installed you can't get to the screws that hold the baffles in place because of the heat shields. It's hard to do but can be done. It's pretty simple to connect everything up but don't tighten everything up. See if you like it that loud and if you do then tighten it all up.

If you still have the sound clip around I'll like to check it out and compare it with the ones with baffles on. Last saturday I went to my local kawa dealer for the inspection and the tech said "take those sorry baffles out man, they suck". When I had it debaffle from the original pipes I did not like the tone so thats why I ended up with V&H but I'm not so crazy about them with the baffles on. If they are louder with a good tone I will debaffle asap.

Is there a video on how to do this? I have VH, and I think mine have baffles in them, but I am unsure of how to debaffle them, as mine have some sort of insert in the pipe. If someone could explain what I am looking at that would be awesome.

I think my V&H Slashcuts are plenty loud with the baffles in.

i removed my baffles and found it a bit to loud. you can cut the very begining of the baffle off. the piece that looks like a freeze out plug. there are 3 little welds on it. just grind them off and insert the baffle back in. its louder but not to loud and has a big bike sound. my V&H pipes sound sucked stock. sounded like kids hitting a pillow.
next to my friends 800a with cheap jardines , his sounded awesome. like a big cc bike. and it now has the right amount of crackle when you get off the throttle.

I just removed mine yesturday and its really loud it doesn't sound good it pops no matter what on decel, and if you let out of it and then try to get back on it it pops and chugs for a sec then takes off.

Could some of this be adjusted for with my fi2000r???

otherwise I'm gonna cut the tips out of the baffles and put them back in.

MINE DOESNT POP AT ALL ON DECEL. I HAVE A PCIII. U MIGHT HAVE AN EXHAUST LEAK. TO GET RID OF THE POPPING AND BACKFIRING U MIGHT HAVE TO PUT UR BIKE ON THE DYNO AND HAVE IT TUNED. UNFORTUNATELY , HAVING IT DYNOED IS EXPENSIVE

YOu have to have the vacuum tube marbled.... this could be done with a BAK or Hypercharger.
