Default Vulcan 900's run rich?

I have heard that the 900's run a bit rich. So today after having my bike almost 3 years, I checked the plugs. To me, they look lean. I havent made any modifications to the airbox. Anyway, just thought some of you might want to be careful with adding extra air without fuel support. Maybe my bike isnt the norm, but I thought I'd share my findings.

The bottom plug, Im guessing was from the rear jug? Mine was a little darker than the front, but my plug had no tan on the electrode at all. It was all white.

Did you pull them just after a cold startup or after running awhile? I would clean or replace the plugs, go for a 1/2 hour ride then pull them hot (don't get burned) look at the plugs now to determine normal or rich.

I'll have to try that. If I remember right the engine was cold when I pulled the plugs.

If that was the case than I'd definitely say you were running lean.
