Default Got a nice compliment today

Today, I was pulling out of a parking lot onto the street. I was turning right, so I pulled up next to a car that was turning left (isn't it nice how a bike can get into a space like that where a car wouldn't fit?). After I pulled up next to the car, the guy in the car started backing up a bit, like he was trying to move the car so he could see past me. His passenger window was down, so I told him I was sorry if I was blocking his view. He said, "No you aren't. Anyway, it's a really NICE view!"

I took that to mean he thought it was nice to see a woman on a big old cruiser. Or maybe he was complimenting my beautiful bike. However he meant it, it made me feel pretty good.

It's a beautiful warm day today again. I wore the lightest jacket I own, and I was still really warm. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the mid-70s here! It's windy, but who cares when it's so beautiful out?

I find you get a lot more people talking and being friendly on a bike than in a cage. Glad you liked the compliment, I am always hesistant now adays to compliment a woman, all that sexual harrassment training I guess.

Hi,

Y'know, you can assume it was the bike or assume it was you he meant. Probably both, but more you than anything else!

Unfortunately, I suffer from a terminal case of ITTAG, so I'll take any compliments I get!

Hello hello!!

Got to agree pretty much with Brancher here. I believe if he liked your bike he would have said "nice bike" or something to that effect. If he liked seeing a lady on a big bike, I believe he would have been clear about that too. No my dear, I do believe the man was complimenting you.

He may have been vague about it because in today's world it seems that sometimes some women have trouble accepting compliments from men.
I don't understand it! I work at a university where many of the women are highly educated. It seems sometime that the more educated the less receptive some may be to compliments. It's not an overwelming trend but it happens often enough to be noticable. Us "guys" have talked about it once or twice at work.

Anyway, take the compliment the way it makes you feel best....am quite sure it was justified!

Cheers!!

first off, i'm sure if he meant the bike he'd've said nice bike, take it that he was talking about you...remember we've discussed it to great lenght...chicks on bikes are hot!

what is ITTAG

Unfortunate, and terminal.

In an attempt to concer with and support Dr Spok, I will quote myself from a former thread: chicks are hot, bikes are cool. combining the two becomes very confusing for us men....we want to admire the bike but cannot take our eyes off the chick!

And that my dear ladies IS a compliment!

Well, I'm educated and I like getting compliments. At my age, you appreciate every one you get! I'll take woof whistles ... anything!

Thanks, guys, you made my day.

Man, talk about a testosterone filled thread trying to figure out how to compliment the compliment within the realm of political correctness.

Nice view, in your heart you knew what he meant and that sudden adrenaline rush you felt was well earned. It's called spring and all the animals understand it very well, we humans just try to be a little to smart sometimes.

Take them when you can get them. I am sure he was admiring both the rider and the ride.

Speaking as a SNAG (too many years with a feminist).
Nowadays it's the women who whistle at the men. Not that I'm complaining.
Vive la revolutione!
