Thumbs up Newbie 900C owner, first post...

Hi to everybody,.......I've snoped around this Great website for quite some time deciding on just what kind of bike I wanted to replace my 2000 Suzuki 800 Marauder with,.....SOOO glad I picked a new 900 Custom(was going back and forth between the Honda 1300 C and the 900C),...this bike Really ROCKS,a pure hot-rod, and HAS to be the best bang-for-the-buck cruiser on the Planet,....seems to be a little 'short' in each gear(..but,I guess, how else can you get the off-the-line acceleration [0-60 in 5.8 secs]from 'only'900cc's?),and that can always be cured with a Scootworks pulley.I've already learned alot about the Vulcan Soft-Tail Custom(..as I like to refer to the bike whenever people ask just what kind of bike I'm driving)from the many, many cycle-savy members of the Club.I went out already and bought a Baron's bullet tach(...always like to know exactly where the motor is at in any given gear/speed situation),some jumbo Saddlemen Drifter Slant custom-mount bags(not installed yet),Ghostbrackets, and a Saddlemen gel-pad for the seat(..yes,the stock seat gets mighty 'hard' after a semi-long time on it).Looking forward to chiming in on various posts and offering an opinion/tip/experience[been a rider for over 20 years].

Congratulations on the new purchase! I am coming up on a year with mine and love it (especially after the 100+ I did this morning).

Good call on the seat. It is a must upgrade/replace item IMO. I went with the daytripper seat and love it. Gels should work great too.

.....OOps....I forgot to mention that I've 'lost' the Vespa-ish,beep-beep stock horn and replaced it with a plug-and-play Fiaam Free-way Blaster(low tone)[probably the cheapest, most useful mod one can do to the bike]that actually makes a pleasingly loud 'honk' sound,.....I've already made 'believers' out of several clueless cage drivers and even a few dumb-a** pedestrians,......and maybe even more of a 'useful' mod of the stage-one variety to the pipes[...why there is a foolish perforated metal plate/screen interfearing with the perfectly good escaping exhaust is beyond me........but it sounds MEGA better without them in place, and JUST right for 'my' ears.......
