Default Clutchitis - is there a doctor in the house?

For about three weeks now the two middle fingers on my clutch hand feel like they are sprained -though I know they aren't. I am sure it is from the movement of putting in the clutch thousands of times. My shifter is set on the easiest setting and positioned right. Has anyone experienced this and is there a cure out there other than not riding for a period of time?

Are you only using two fingers to pull in the clutch lever?

Nope - all the fingers, but it seems these two have the most discomfort.

Arthritis? Do they ache all the time, or just when you use them while riding? I do a lot of handling of steel and it pulls on the finger joints. To combat this, I do finger tip push ups, about a thousand each morning, or I take an Aleve.

I just went thru this. My hand was hurting and grasping the clutch hurt. I have a customer who happens to be a Ortho doc and I asked him about it and he said it was lateral epicondylitis a fancy word for "tennis elbow" in my case "clutch elbow" since I do not play tennis! Seems the lateral epicondyle tendon connects from the elbow to the hand and small tears occur and the resulting inflamation causes pain. I recieved a localized steroid injection and a set of stretches to do and have been pain free ever since. May not be your condition but that is my story. BTW one hour after the steroid injection the pain was gone.

No lifting: but at my sons little league practice I was smacking the ball farther than Barry Bonds!
