Okay, maybe I'm just dense (in fact, I know I am dense), but I can't find the helmet lock on my 900 Vulcan Custom. I've never used one before, so I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for. And the instruction manual wasn't of much use.
So where is it, and how do I use it? Thanks! |

well it's not really a lock.
it's just a hook. You slide your D ring from your helmet strap onto it and then you put your seat back on and it locks your helmet in place so it looks like this: ![]() |

Mine never did, but it might depend on what helmet you have. My scorpion has cushions that it was riding on.

http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...hooknoseat.jpg When I bought my bike, the dealer forgot to install it. When I went back we looked under the seat of a couple of other bikes, and not all of them had one either. I'm guessing it's an "easy to forget" item when assembling the bike. |

I added an after market lock to my hiway bars next to the frame on the right side. I can lock two full face helmits to it. It is out of the way but very easy to use.

My wife and i use two carabener's (one each) like the ones for key chains, and attach the helmet to the vertical bars on the sissy bar.The helments each sit flat on a saddle bag. That is not a "lock" though, but it does keep them off the ground. and keeps them from hanging or resting on anything hard. |

I just hang my FF helmet on my handlebar and use a locking cable to attach it to the triple tree. Works just fine and doesn't damage anything.
