I rode in today too Rusty...This time it wasnt by my own choice! My wife lost BOTH sets of keys to her car, so I had to leave my truck behind so she could lose those keys too...

Its supposed to get nasty again this afternoon with more storms. First sign of thunder and I am outta here!

I'm just glad that the jet stream finally moved north a few days ago. Don't worry Rusty the jet stream is suppose to move farther north next week for you and start drying out(it might suck for Jeff though) It's sunny and 90 here for the next week!

Not so bad... not 'til Thursday anyway, but I've never seen them being more wrong than they have been lately!

(That's 90° on Wednesday!)

We've been getting missed by most of the rain that has been traveling through your area but last night from about midnight to 4am we got slammed with strong storms.

I didn't bring my bike today because I want to watch the weather but I might hop on it after work and take it up to my parents, hopefully before/after/or between the storms they are calling for tonight.

We got hit with a "toad strangler" (thanks Rusty!) the day before yesterday. Spent the better part of yesterday raking and picking up tree branches and limbs, and helping a neighbor cut up a downed tree that missed his house by inches.

Oh...and the wife left her windows down, so not only can she not drive her car because she has no keys...the dehumidifier has been running in it all night to dry it out!

Alright despite my moms disaproval of my mechanical abilities following my valve clearance fiasco I think I'm going to attempt to do the sprocket and chain work with the help of the auto mechanic that saved my *** last time. While I have the wheel off I figure I should also replace the rear brake, any certain model number I need of just Vulcan 800 pads like on eBay?

Anyone have any pointers advice or warning? Thanks for anything!

All 800's (A or B, but not drifters) are the same on the rear brakes, the fronts are different however.

can you really just get spray paint in a can to paint your bike parts?! O_o

ummm if soooo uhhhhh what would i need to make sure i get!? ?!?

I have a well vented 3 door pit garage (not connected to the house) and I CAN GET tools and things needed i'm sure.. but i just need to know what would i need to get. I'm looking to save money by repainting my bike without paying $1k for work i can do myself if i have the time.

Thanks again! I just wanted to make sure before I order something and find it doesn't work, at the last moment.

Does everyone else change both tires at the same time or would you ever stagger and replace one at a time? Any real harm in changing one at a time?

If you haven't noticed already ,you'll usually go through two back tires to one front one ,most cruisers do. So no,there's no reason you can't just replace them one at a time if need be ( in other words ,no harm done)

Hey i painted my bike with a few cans and i think i can help you with this .
do you have a vip around you if so they can help you with the type of paint that you might want to use (i used a metal cast color and all that means is that in the sun light it makes your bike sparkly and if you have any plastic parts youll NEED the abrasive glue so that the paint sticks .
For metal Cast paint you'll also need the base coat witch is a silver color and then your color paint and then clear coat (lots of clear coat and youll need to wet sand it after ok ) but dont for get to prime it !
Check out the link below to see my bike and the paint i chose
