It all started innocently enough, I mentioned that I have a three-day weekend that my wife told me to ride and do what I want with, and the wheels started turning. It actually came right out of my hands completely, and others started running with it... turns out it's not even the weekend I have free, but it's pretty much a done deal now!

Since you guys are most of the guys I know best, I thought I'd at least let you know... whether you can make it or not is something only you can decide, but since I (and others) can't make it to Red Lodge, this is a potential alternative! Even I can't ride there and back in a weekend, so I'm flying in... can't let it happen without me!!!

One of the members here (mwmalotte) plays in a band, and has a gig that Saturday night, some of us are coming in Friday and leaving Sunday. We have people from Arizona, Iowa, Missouri, Ontario, Alberta, Kansas and more places I can't remember, coming... probably no more than about 12 at the moment, but of course all are welcome!

Today is my last day at work for a week, camping with the family, so you won't hear from me after the end of today until at least next weekend... Just something to think about!!! I hope it's something you decide you want to do and can make happen!!!
let me get this straight, your going to be in Leavenworth KS on the 8th of August? But your flying down?

Amazingly that's only about 8 hours and 500 miles away from me, but it's the worst time of year for me to do it.

Instead I'll probably save a big trip for heading up north in Wisconsin and taking half the distance but twice the time.

It's funny because I'de never think about taking the cage that far but the bike...definitely. haha.

Thats the same line of thought when you go for a 200 or 300 mile ride on a Satrurday along with lunch. How many times would you think about doing that in the auto? But it's just about every Sat. or Sun. for us in the summer time.

Just joking , square edges from riding on straight roads. All kidding aside I grew up in Shawnee and then moved to Linwood(I know you know where that is) And have friends in Tongi. I know you've ridden past the first house of many I built back in 83 (when you ride on k-32 from Linwood east to Bonner Spings)Are you too young to remember the Hiny Wine radio commericials and jokes from the 80's? . That Donkey thread has over a 1000 pages and I wasn't even going to attempt to read and catch up.

LOL! Ok, I gotcha. Not too many twisties out here. Hiway 5 towards Wolcott is about the best. Leavenworth isn't a premier riding destination. Fortunately, we're not getting together to ride...

In a nutshell, a bunch of us wanted an excuse to meet face-to-face. Folks had some time off coming and a bunch decided to come up and see my band play in Tongie August 8. No real reason other than to actually meet and party together

Yeah, I remember the Hiney wine commercials

I understand the get togther thing, Thats how RedLodge got started back in 05.This may be doable for us. All the family still lives in Shawnee and Kck, however Like I posted before we've got friends in Tongie we could probably stay with as well. So your Band is playing in Tonganoxie right and not Leavenworth? Just remind everyone to wear their collar because the Donkey is known to have had a "TICK" problem in the past and I'm not sure if he's gotten that cleared up or not yet

We're playing at Helen's Hilltop - 19611 McLouth Road, Tonganoxie. It's pretty easy to find.. 'bout 3 miles outta town, past the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds
