I have straightshots and the baffles are removable. I bought the quiet baffles for them and put them in but were too quiet. I put the original ones back in no problem.

How loud was it with them out? I'm guessing TOO loud. I like the sound they have now when I get on them but sometimes I meet bikes that are louder and think...wow that'd be nice. But then I drive to work during the week and think, man I'm glad I'm not ****ing off the neighbors.

Can you measure the I.D. of the pipes? If you want to keep the sound, but toned down a little; KromeWerks HP Plus baffles sound pretty awesome IMHO. They are still rather loud, but not obnoxious.

The 2" baffles fit 1.86 I.D. pipes.

NICE BARS WISC! So THAT'S what they are supposed to look like when they are installed! Haven't decided how to handle the "bags are too big for the bars" issue yet... hasn't been much of a priority lately! The look great!

And me too, I didn't realize you though they were Cruzers... nope, they're not! THESE are:

(I hate that picture... reminds me too much of fall...)

FYI... there's an 800 gas tank in good condition for sale... there seems to be a shortage of supply and a pretty good demand for these sometimes!

Maybe...but if you dont keep me posted on the details here or by PM, then I will be lost. There is NO WAY I can keep track of that donkey thread...

My bags are probably a little too big but they still manage to fit.

Jeff, can't you move your bags back a bit to make room for the dresser bars? Or are the turn signals in the way?

Consider it done! I'll dig up the most relevant info and make sure you know about it!

Not a chance. When I installed them, I put them as far back (tight) to the signals as I could, and I still need a couple of inches... I went Jumbo for the room, but could probably have gone large and still had enough space, but that likely would have given me the clearance for the bars.

I didn't know the bars existed when I bought the bags... and now the bags are still too new to replace... I bought the bars on the chance they'd fit... so now it's either relocate the signals, bite the bullet and switch bags (and get virtually nothing for the ones I have) or lave the bars on the shelf until I DO switch bags!

Hey everyone, I was curious what is the widest tire I can mount up on my 500?
I have a 2000 500LTD and would love to have at least a little bit wider tire.
Thanks guys!

Hey ridder, welcome to the forum! Great Av, do you have pics of the bike too?

What's the tire on a 500 now? I think it's a 140, is it not? Most guys with a 140 have no problem going to 150, and some have done 160, not as many...

Don't rub it in "1500 light-bar" boy... actually, the whole thing started because I had a three day weekend that my wife told me to take as a riding weekend... but then it turned into a Kansas thing, and then it changed weekends, so the INTENT was to bring the bike... but I can't get to Kansas and back on a weekend that I only have two days to play with!

Just over 500 miles from me... I'd feel like a Brokeback Mountain stunt-double by the time I got there.
