I have a 2006 kawasaki Vulcan Classic 2000 and I want to install a power commander, I removed the seat but not sure about how to remove the gas tank. Can some one please help?

Thanks,
Kurt

Kurt. you might want to start a thread in the cruiser section. this thread doesn't get a lot of traffic. not sure about the V2K, but the 1500's had one bolt under the seat, and one up front by the steering stem.

Default This may help fellow V2K owners.

Here is a link to a LARGE 13Mb .pdf file of the V2K manual. It will be available for a limited time. Not sure what that time limit is yet but I would appreciate it if you only visited the link IF you have a V2K and IF you need the manual. Bandwidth is also limited.

ENJOY!

P.S. I'll post again when I find the latest Supplement.

can't help you there Soupbone, i ran a Power Commander on my Nomad. start your own thread in the cruiser section and you will get more people looking at it. i am sure there are some others running the Cobra.

Default Newb question... 1600 Mean streak owners manual

Am going to be looking at a 2006 Mean Streak this Saturday... previous owner is not around, his ex-wife is selling it and knows absolutely nothing about it other than she has the title and power of attorney...
Where on the bike is the owners manual located?..would sure help to have it available when checking it out.. forewarned is forearmed so to speak.. any help as to what to look for on that bike would be appreciated. 5.5K miles ..was purchased June 06..

if its kept on the bike, i'd look behind the left side cover. I don't keep mine on the bike as I don't want em to get wet. silly me. look there, should be a tool kit in there too.

good luck and let us know if you come away with your new meanie

It's bolted down. One bolt at the rear of the seat, very visible. And one on each side, about half way along, just under the side lip of the seat, a liitle more difficult to find. Should be a 10mm socket for the side ones.

i got this '97 1500D. i put muzzys 2into2 (one each side) with fishtails on. i also put on a dynojet kit on with the recomended main jet for this setup (i think). i now have a carbon fouling and masive heat problem. no engine overheat but intence heat at the pipes. long story short, two pair rain pants, four pair uniform pants, one rain coat and the right side cover all melted. HELP. i still have the stock intake.

I had the same trouble with mine after a pipe and jet change. No doubt it is a carb problem. Eventually I dropped a cyclinder in mine. You really need to have it dynoed to make sure you have the correct mix of gas and air now. $75 to $100 could save you a lot of grief and money down the road. No to mention clothes!

Is there any sites that are totally set up to deliver metric exhaust pipes for cruisers. I am looking to put all black pipes on my bike to keep the matte black theme and I am not seeing anything I like. Can you get shotguns in matte black ......... where?
