Does anyone know if you can buy any different gearing for a 94 1500 classic to change the gearing as 4th gear is to low on the highway. I do not know if they sell anything as it is shaft driven

Hello everybody,
I am Philippe, french guy living in PA, all new on this forum. Please, be lenient for my spelling because my English is not perfect. I use to ride bikes since I am seventeen and I would like to buy another as soon as possible. I owned recently a Honda 650 Deauville, very comfortable (see one here: http://www.mcnews.com.au/Testing/Hon...lle/Page1.htm). This machine is not imported here because you, US guys, you like to have the feet in front of the machine, and not underneath you, like on the BMW 1150 RT, Yamaha FJR, etc.. Then a Yamaha 1300 Royal Star, very nice and heavy, but I didn't like the engine that is not smooth when you ride slowly. In France, we say " le moteur cogne" How do you say that here? I prefer the 2 cylinders engine where you can ride from 40 mph to the max on the 5 th gear. It was not the case on the Yamaha, but the engine was powerfull. Then an Aprilla Caponord ( see it here: http://www.cmgonline.com/bikes/model...st/index.html), a very nice italian bike, comfortable and reliable, the most powerfull in his category. I hesitate between the Yam Road Star Silverado and the 1600 Vulcan Nomad, but I think I'll choose the Nomad. I have heard a lot of good things about the Nomad, especialy in Motorcycle.com and in other reviews. Could you please tell me where I could find second hand machines near Philadelphia: is there a web sites specialized in used motorbikes? Also, when we buy a motorcycle in this country, what are the documents that we have to request? Thank you in advance Philippe |

Try www.craigslist.com and find your area and then find the motorcycles section.

It's not a big deal to change pipes. You are not supposed to get rid of any of the epa stuff, but many do. You may have to block off the post combustion fresh air intake system. You'll hear it refered to as coasters, marbling, or reed plate or reed valve blocking. It's possible to make it run good after doing this stuff you will need a fuel processor, however many find they don't and can live with the way it runs, My opinion is if you are going to go that far might as well upgrade the air cleaner and then you have a stage one kit, some more power and a better running bike.

I need a new rear tire for my 1500 classic have a dunlap cruisemax that was on the bike when i got it,I replaced the front with dunlap 440 ( I thnk thats what it is) since the don't make the cruisemax anymore. was just triing to get some feed back on what to get, was also thinking of replaceing the front tire as well so that they match with tire wear. I do like the dunlaps but Like I said just looking for some feed back. Thanks to all

I have the 2006 2 tone silver and black fuel injected 1500 Vulcan. I am having slight buyers remorse about not waiting for solid black...(who likes to wait?). Anyone know anyone interested in swapping their flawless black fenders and tank for my 2 tone anniversary edition fenders and tank?
