+1 and on the V2K I use a Metzler 240mm in the back. Looks sweet.

I would like to know what accessories are interchangable with the 1500 classic and the 1600 classic. Having a hard time finding good deals on accessories for the 1600 but have found several for the 1500. Any ideas

Default Califonia Emissions Question

I am considering buying a 2005 Vulcan 2000cc Classic Limited that is for sale in California. I live in Iowa and a salesman at my local dealership told me that this bike would have CA emissions on it and I should stay away from it. It was purchaced new in CA.
Does anyone know how major of an issue this is? I don't want to get it if it is going to be all "smogged down".

A pwr commander, intake and pipe should negate any CA emmisions restrictions placed on the bike, so who cares...if it's a good price, get it and mod it up.

Think Kawasaki has one, at least they do for the 1500. I have an '05 1600 Classic as well - bought the Mustang seat with the rider's backrest but I prefer to ride without it.

Please, be lenient for my spelling because my English is not perfect.

I use to ride bikes since I am seventeen and I would like to buy another as soon as possible. I owned recently a Honda 650 Deauville, very comfortable (see one here: http://www.mcnews.com.au/Testing/Hon...lle/Page1.htm). This machine is not imported here because you, US guys, you like to have the feet in front of the machine, and not underneath you, like on the BMW 1150 RT, Yamaha FJR, etc..
Then a Yamaha 1300 Royal Star, very nice and heavy, but I didn't like the engine that is not smooth when you ride slowly. In France, we say " le moteur cogne" How do you say that here? I prefer the 2 cylinders engine where you can ride from 40 mph to the max on the 5 th gear. It was not the case on the Yamaha, but the engine was powerfull.
Then an Aprilla Caponord ( see it here: http://www.cmgonline.com/bikes/model...st/index.html), a very nice italian bike, comfortable and reliable, the most powerfull in his category.
I hesitate between the Yam Road Star Silverado and the 1600 Vulcan Nomad, but I think I'll choose the Nomad. I have heard a lot of good things about the Nomad, especialy in Motorcycle.com and in other reviews.
Could you please tell me where I could find second hand machines near Philadelphia: is there a web sites specialized in used motorbikes?
Also, when we buy a motorcycle in this country, what are the documents that we have to request?
Thank you in advance
Philippe
Hello, YOure english is great. C'est bonne!! there used to be an excellent Kawasaki dealer n Northeast Philadelphia just off of Aramingo Ave. not to far from Castor Ave, I believe. The man who ran it was named Vince. He sold me 3 excellent used motorcycles. I yamaha and 2 Kawasaki. If he is still there i highly recomment him. I live in the Seattle, Washington area now and have a '06 Mean streak. the 1600 CC engine lugs in 5th very well.

Hey CCTX, can I just make a suggestion from experience, get rid of that hypercharger and get a big air kit from barrons or thunder. The hypercharger is garbage; looks only.

I know, but got such a good deal on it. Will look to something else in the future. Right now my project is finishing my wife's Avitar so she will let me do more to the ZX-14. But thank you for the tip.

There is a procedure for aligning the front forks, its in the manual, the wheel and calipers are close tolerance in relation to the front forks. Look for simple items also, tire pressure, tire wear, loose items, bolts, alignment, dirt and particles in the break pads.

Default Vulcan 1600 parts/accessories interchangability??

Hi!
Have a 2003 Vulcan 1600. Wondered if anyone knows HOW interchangable parts are between VN1600's for different years? How about 1600 Nomad models? Mean Streak? Can't find any references to differences (or same-ness) like frame, seats or anything! Wondered if any web sites talked about this.....
Anyone know if the stock 1600 Nomad seat will fit a 1600 Classic? Any other parts?
Seems like the 1600 is the "poor stepchild" of Vulcans with WAY fewer accessories out there....
Thanks for ANY info.

Tony

all of the 1600 Classics should be the same. i could be wrong, but i don't think they have made any changes to them yet. as for the Nomad, or the Meanie being the same as the Classic, it all depends on what parts. there are a lot of differences between the three bikes, but some things are still interchangable.

I feel your pain. Seems like all accessories fit other models while the 1600 is left out. Slowly more and more are available so be patient

Hello everyone. Afters years of gawking and wishing I went out and bought myself another cruiser (Last one was stolen).
I just bought a 2007 Vulcan 2000 Classic. I have ideas of what I want to do on the bike, but I like to see pictures. Does anyone know where I can find some examples of modded 2000s?
I know they are out (I see them on the street), but I can't find pics online.

thanks.

if you go in the cruiser section and start a thread asking for pics, i'm sure you will get a few. or go in the pics section and look for V2K's. we have quite a few members who have sick rides.
