How big can the wheel/tires size on a 2000 go without fender modification? How far with fender modification?
Another questions on pipes. Im going with the Cobra Speedster Shorts, I have no idea what they sound like, but I have no idea what any other pipes sounds like (other than stock), but I like they way the look (I know thats retarded, but I only have looks to go on) Im still undecided on the intake - I want something that doesn't cover so much of the engine up. Anyword on could modules? |

If you are in the market for an intake without the big cover, I would sell you my Thunder intake setup that uses the original cover. It has the same HiFlow intake and a K&N filter as their fancy massive sets but it still looks stock. SLEEPER! ??could modules??

i believe the V2K is limited by the belt before the fenders. pretty sure you can run a 240 stock and that is it.

Texas Metrics, Kawasaki Custom Cruisers, Kawasaki Customs
Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 Project V2K - Custom - Motorcycle Cruiser These guys slammed 1 and fit a 250, but they say they changed the fender. The belt looks the same (minus some chrome). However, I niether want to slam it, or change the fender. So a 240 might be it. Sorry I cannot spell. I meant to ask about any good modules (chips, programmers, etc). 'Could modules' Jeese.... |

moparman,
Thanks for the offer on the intake, but Im in it for the looks. I know, I know, Im just another 'pretty' boy. Performance wise, Im happy with the motorcycle right now. At noon today I will have had it for a week, haven't gotten to take it anywhere yet though, so I only have 290 miles on it thus far. The fuel to get 290 miles has cost me, maybe 30 bucks (less than that, but lets round up). In my truck those same miles would have cost me 50 bucks. 35mpg on the bike vs 16 on the truck, and from what I understand the bike is still breaking in, so the mileage on it will get better (at least until I start tinkering). |

FYI, if you are happy with your power, there is an air filter cover from Show Chrome Accessories(BigBikeParts.com I think) that is the same size and looks a lot different than stock. I am sure that you can get a K&N or UNI filter to replace the stock air filter too and you would spend a lot less than a High$$ intake kit. Better looks, better efficiency, less money. Can't beat that... Yes, the mileage should get better, as will the power output.

Just a newbie to the forum and I have a dumb question. I bought a used '04 1500 Classic 16 months and 12K+ miles ago. There were no manuals and my Clymers doesn't explain this. Why does my turn signal blink when I turn on the key (sometimes). At first I thought it may be a warning that I'm not in neutral when I park on a hill, but that's not it. I noticed a buddy's Classic doing the same thing on a PGR ride, but he couldn't tell me the significance, just that it's ok and in the manual. Anybody???
Thanks Lightnin' A day without riding is like....WINTER! |

Hi All,
I am new to this forum. I just started riding October '06, started on a Shadow 750 after MSF class, loved its looks but felt the need to "upgrade" to an 07 Vulcan Classic 1600 last July. Am happy with the change in performance, except later on I noticed the looks of the Vulcan on the left side, like it is not proportional, because of a vacuous space in front of the rear wheel. I think they did away with a canister of sorts involving the exhaust but left it empty. Right side is handsome because of those big exhaust pipes. Has anyone installed something in there to fill in the empty space, like a storage bin or something to improve/balance its looks on the left side? Appreciate anyone's experience. |

Want to put a crankcase vent on my 2007 nomad. Where can I buy one and how do I put it on? Just disabled the reed valves (waiting on coasters to arrive for full removal) and disconnected the cold idle solenids. Bike sounds much quieter.

Now, for your intake I would go with either a Barrons or Thunder BAK (big air kit). Stay away from the hyper/pro chargers; all show and mostly no go on our V2ks. And as far as a module, get a Power Commander. You can hook it right to your laptop for on the spot a/f adjustments. Would definitely recommend a professional dyno tune though and when you go make sure your tires are inflated correctly so you get a honest hp/tq #. Good luck. Justin

Welcome Kawiclassy07!
Fairly new here myself. Good people and lots of info here and at the VROC sight. When I bought my 05 1600 Classic I wondered about that "left side void". Personally I wondered why the bikes left exhaust didn't run down there...somehow. They did it on the Nomad so why not on the classic. Anyway... I proposed something..........chrome. Let me look at that area with a creative eye and see. |
