I have a 2008 VN1500N. I purchased a Barons Reed Valve Block off kit, commonly known as "coasters" The instructions say that "on EFI model you may have to leave the solenoid in place and plugged in to avoid FI error lights." Does anyone have experience with this on a FI Vulcan? If there is an FI error light, is there a way to cancel it and still remove the solenoid? It seems a waste to install the kit and have to leave the solenoid in.

The final drive assemblies are the same kawi part# for the 2000 and the 2006.

Manual says use 91 or higher for my 2001 F.I. but many have run lower grade fuel without issue. Listen carefully for signs of detonation; engine damage will follow shortly.

i have always run 87 in my Mean Streak and did in my Nomad with no problems. up to you, but i recommend trying the lower octane and if the bike runs fine stick with that.

Ok, here is the situation. ok, situations. First, i have a 08 Vulcan Nomad with Vance and Hines Baggers. Oh and I ride LOUD!. I love the sound of it with no baffles, but am losing to much back pressure, backfiring and running to rich. So i have put the baffels back in. To quiet. Happy medium anyone? Any suggestions on cutting the baffles or a wrap that wont burn up but will give me a good loud deep thump.
Second Issue. My wifes bike is an 05 Vulcan 800A. Have put a lot of work into it. Classic back fender, scootworks lowering kit, belt drive, etc...I am changing out the front wheel and replacing it with the wider Vulcan 500 19" front wheel. Easier to ride and better in the rain. I have a custom Dragster Fender on the front now that wont go around the new wheel. I dont want a slip fender. any ideas? |

I have the baffles in mine with the wrap removed. Plenty of backpressure and just the right volume level for a touring bike IMHO.

No ideas about the 800 fender. Maybe the fender from the 500 would work?

well i solved the baffle issue. Ispeed i used your idea. just cut the middle completely out. Just a tad quieter than baffless and still has the backpressure. Also a lot deeper. Still no luck on the 800 fender. The problem i am having is, every fender i have found that is made for a 19" wheel is to thin. The vulcans 19" wheel is wider than the Harleys. I have to have at least 4 7/8" of clearance inside the fender. I could use the 500 fender but that is just the little slip fender and i dont think it would look right with the classic back fender. So, i search on!
