no prob, i was there at one time too. if you go to the forum main page, and then into the cruiser section, you will see all of the threads listed. at the top of the list, left corner, there should be a box that reads "start new thread" or something like that. click that and it will open up a normal posting box. make sure you put a title that applies to your question, then post your question and click submit. any other questions, feel free to PM (private message). to do that, just click on my screenname and scroll down to send private message to ispeed77.

Default pipes for my V2K

I'm going to put pipes on my V2K but I'm not sure what to buy. I have checked websites and read reviews but would appreciate any personal insight and recommendations from V2K owners.

welcome to the forum kilr. you might want to start your own post regarding this question, cause i am not sure how many V2K owners actually browse this post.

Kilr, welcome to the forum. I have a V2K LTD and I went with the Roadhouse Slipons. They sound great when you open that throttle and are quiet enough that my neighbors don't complain when I get home. If you want other recomendations check the www.rogueownersgroup.com. Enjoy your bike there is nothing like it. I love mine more everytime I get on it for a ride.

The Rogue site is great with dyno's and all. V&H and Thunder 2-1 are popular for the 2000

If you want a low rumble without the racous sound of drag pipes, but a nice vroom when you give it the throttle, Roadhouse Slip-ons might be for you. And they go on easy without having to disturb the cylinder crush gaskets because you leave the headers in-place. They are pricey, but the chrome is outstanding and the fit perfect. Check my pics on the website below.

Hi,

I have just sold my V&H Longshots, they were just a bit too anti-social for my wife! These boys look just the job, can I get them in England and if so, where and for how much?
Cheers, Alan

I'm not sure if you can use slip on's with the meanie. Did you try the quiet baffles in the V&H's before you sold them?

Default what to buy

I'm just looking for my 3rd ispeed77. I already have an '01 Valk and an '05 FJR 1300 and love 'em both. I'm was just looking for a v-twin when I spotted the Trumpit...must say "Wow, what a machine!!!" Actually, I'd own all three (kaw, vtx, and trumpit) if I had the $$$...I feel everyone should own at least 5 bikes...and as most don't own any at all or only one, I guess that leaves about 10 for me and you...don't we wish? Anyway, I'd sure like to see any dyno charts on the VTX 1800...thanks in advance for any info...dwan52

if you go to www.thundermfg.com you may be able to see some dyno charts of the VTX and the V2K. since you have the Valk for a comfort cruiser and the FJR for touring, i would personally lean towards the X as opposed to the V2K. the V2K is a power cruiser where as the X is more of a muscle cruiser. i think the V2K would be very similar to your Valk, so the X might give you a different riding feel. of course the III would be even more different as it sits more like a standard than a cruiser, but its also the most expensive. i would still go with the X, but i'm kinda partial since my buddy rides one and i am hoping to pick one up as well.

I put quiet baffles in my Straightshots. Packed them first, too. Then the sound was perfect.

But I don't have that bike anymore.

I had the same experience. It may be the tires. The original tires are junk. Mine started playing songs at about 5500 miles. Get rid of those and try Metzers 880 or Venoms. You'll be amazed at the difference.

I'll bet it's the tires. There cheap! They start to break down around 6K and hum and sing a strange tune. Something like RAP!!! You can probably feel a vibration in the handle bar. Do yourself a favor and replace as soon as possible.
