Howdy First Post
Hey quick questions for those who own the 1600 or 2000 Classics or Nomies. What the big difference besides engine size and torque? Anyone move UP to a 2k from 1600 and what did you think? Thanks Chris

hey Chris, welcome to the forum. if you want more people to see your question, start a thread in the cruiser section. you will definitely get a lot of feedback on that subject.

Then the Nomad has smaller throttle bodies, bigger front tire, hard bags, windsheild, sissy bar.. set up for the superslab. And theres lots of us who want to move up to a V2k- although it seems the performance minded meanie guys are the ones doing it not the thrifty classic owners nor the old Nomad drivers =P Wait a min,... did I just say Nomads are rode my old men

Well it takes all kinds I guess, good info though in the structure.
I can honestly say that as a 33y/o in better shape than most 20+ y/o that the Nomie's perks (outside of the paint and bags) seems just right for this midlife crisis geezer.

Onw word "torque" Stump pulling torque. That is the primary difference I notice from my old Mean Streak to my new 2000.

Newbie here, I have a question. I have an 06 Vulcan2k with Thunder procharger, power commander, 3" Hard Krome longs (no baffles) and my bike keeps throwing the FI light around 90mph. WTF?? Do I have a bad Pwr Cmdr or something? The bike only has 1200 miles on it. I'm getting really annoyed with this as it's the second time now. I can't find anything int the maintenance manual about it. PLS HELP!!!
06 Vulcan 2000...Y2K? 'Cause it kicks a$$!! Dyno Results: 93 HP/127 ft/lbs - HARD KROMES SUCK!! Last edited by LOWFLYER : 07-03-2006 at 02:53 PM. |

Ok, another question for you guys since my last one seems to be stumping you. Obviously I'm ****ed about my HK 3" big straights. So I was thinking about going with the HK 2:1. Any thoughts, opinions, rants, or raves??

LOWFLYER, you might want to just start a new thread in the cruiser section. if i recall, this problem has happened to others, so you should get some responses.

Hey classic riders! this may be a stupid question, but i bought a 1500 vulcan earlier this summer, its a 2004 with 17,000 miles on it and im planning to take it on a trip about 350 miles and back, across the state of utah. Is the bike going to make it and perform the whole way? is there any preperation i should do besides check all the fluids and such? sorry this is my first real road trip on a bike, so i was just wondering if i can get some info from anyone thanks everyone!

just do what you mentioned, check your fluids and tires and stuff. the bike will make it there without a problem.

Hello...New to the forum and bike world. Just bought a new Vulcan 1600 classic, 2006. I'm keeping the bike in the garage and I noticed an oil leakage on the ground just below the gear case. What could casue that leakage? I appreciate your input and advice...

I have no idea. You could try looking up under the bike to see where it is coming from. But try asking this question over in the Cruiser Section. Not too much action around here. Someone will probably pick up on your concern there.
