I think it would probably be easier trading in your bike and getting a bigger bike but that's just my opinion. I went from a 900 custom to a 1600 Mean Streak and finally my baby the Vulcan 2000 in less than a year, talk about spending and wasting money.

I dont want to start anything but ppl always say things like this (myself included.. i.e. if you were going to turn it into a tourer why didnt you buy a nomad...or something of the like) but I dont want the 1500 or 1600 b/c IMO the custom looks way better for my taste....just my .02

yeh, I plan on buying a nomad or some more capable 2up tourer... but if i were to keep my 900 as well for just a single ride i would possibly consider modifying the motor... it's not a must but just one more thing to customize....
it's like saying if you wanted more chrome on your bike why didnt you buy this harley instead? that way you dont have to waste your money on chrome when its on the bike... even though it looks nothing like the bike you have... makes no sense to me. If you wanted a bike with bags and a sissy bar why didnt you but an LT? if you wanted a fairing why didnt you buy a street glide? anyway, you see my point. The meanstreak is no where near the same bike as the custom...it does fulfill one need that we are talking about.. a bigger motor...thats about it.

I have a 2007 custom 900 that I have lowered 3" put a lot of chrome on and also put the Dyno Jet Power Commander on, The Big Baron Air Kit, I had the bike Dyno Tuned, and let me tell you thats all the power that I want from this bike it opened it up like it was a whole different motor, no its not like my 10 second bike I traded, but wow what a big difference with the mods that I had done. The whole Mods with the Dyno, Power Commander, and the BAK, was right around $1000.00 and I was very happy. FASTBANDIT |

If you can find an 04-05 Suzuki M95 they are the same bike as the MS with a different rear fender and head light. I have one and love it. I bought the M95 just because of the rear fender.

Hey Fastbandit,
Did you also put on some after market pipes. I really like the 900. It fits me perfect. I really like the look of the 900 Custom thats why I bought one. It sounds like I need to do what you did to get a litttle more power out of the 900. Ozzie |
