Sorry no pictures. The batteries died in the camera and the work had to go on.
Noticed that the rear fender had developed a very loud rattle when ever I went over rough spots in the road. Also could see that there was an excessive amount of movement in the fender at the light assembly.
Found that the fender support bracket had broken. The location of the break did not compromise the support of the seat. However, it did give up any support for the lower back half of the fender. Hence, the rattle.
I was able to repair the break, unfortunately I do not own a welder (yet). Bike is now as quite as when I bought it. However, I suspect that I will have to eventually take the bracket off again and have it welded or replaced.
I do not remember this ever being discussed and wanted to give everyone a heads up. The loud rattling of the rear fender is not normal and most likely you have experienced a similar problem. Oh it only took 2 years and 24,000 miles of riding to cause the failure.
