Default 04 1500 Vulcan Classic goat belly view......

Unlike the goat belly on Gadgets site, the classic belly does not have the ceramic filtration comb. It just has some more of those pesky perforated screens. I tried to find pics of this, and failed. So if this is a repeat of another thread my apologies. I have no idea what difference if any, cutting off the end perfs will make. But I thought I would post it up as I go.

I used a 14" cut off saw to cut it in half. Note I cut behind the mounting flanges to make sure the geometry of all that stays in place for easy remount. I am concerned about how it is going to sound with the exhaust pounding the end of the belly due to the end perfs being removed. I will let you know. I need to give a buddy a welding job now. WIll get back to you later.

My first time to use my 14" cut off wheel, great investment.

Well, got the belly welded up and all back on the bike. In a nut shell, trimming off all the perfs in the exhaust really was not worth it. Did not pick up any sound either. But the baffles are still in there. But the project did give me something to do.
