Man I'm soooooo sorry to hear that. I had to put my best friend down about a year and a half ago. It still hurts to think about it. I wish I could say it gets easier but it doesn't for me. I will say that remembering all the good times you had together helps. I'm man enough to admit that I cried over that big ole brut of a dog. No matter what they are always loyal to us.
Riding helped me too. Good Luck and Ride Safe

Hopefully the ride helped some. I am in Naperville, so we are not too far. We should get together and do a ride sometime.

It can be hard when you have to put one of your animals down. Motorcycles can always be considered good medicine. Hope you feel better.

Sorry to hear that. Very sorry. Nothing in the world beats the loyalty of a dog, absolutely nothing.
Our pooch is getting up in years ans we've started having that conversation ourselves. He will be around for probably another 5 or so, but it will probably take that long for me to get myself prepared.

RIP pooch.

That's sad news, and there's just not much for it. I hope you feel better soon enough.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had to put one of my wife's horses down, a beautiful paint horse, that was just like a big kid. That was 10 years ago and it still haunts me, but I can't stand to see something I love suffer. Just remember the good times--it helps. BB

Just try to remember all the good times. The sadness does get easier to handle as time passes. Peace......

Two years ago I had to put my two dogs down, about 6 month in between. No way in hell could I have ridden my motorcycle or driven a car that same day and probably not the next.

Real sorry to hear about your loss. I wouldn't insult you by telling you that I know how you feel because we all take it differently. It damn sure hurts that's for sure.

Very sorry to hear about your loss of a good friend and faithful companion. I don't even want to think what I'll be like on that day.

Yea man, very sorry you had that happened.
I grew up in a rural environment so we always hads dogs and cats and horses and lots of other animals. It's never easy to let one go but we do what we have to. Several months ago I lost my pal Louie who you see in my avitar. After all the animals I've had as companions, it still is very hard.
Best Wishes.

I hate loosin a loved pet man, know where you are. Now that you're feeling a little better, maybe take a good ride this weekend and remember, there are lots of new buddies down at your local pound that will be glad to volunteer to take over where your buddy left off. No disrespect for your previous animal but it's one of the best ways to get over the loss and lord knows, there's plenty waiting on you.

Then again, with 3 cats and 3 dogs one of which still not quite trained yet, I could use a house that doesn't smell like urine before the end of the week when I hit the carpets again with the steam cleaner. She's getting better but DANG how big can a yorkies bladder be anyway?

Man, really sorry to hear that. I too know the pain of losing a pet (family). It's never easy.

I have to agree with MrClean as well. Obviously no other pet will ever fully replace the one you just lost but it can help ease the pain and in time you'll have a new best friend. My two oldest dogs are 11 and 12 this year. They're bigger dogs and are nearing the end of their lifespan. They are still doing good but have definitely slowed down. We just adopted a couple pups from the local shelter. Not trying to replace them early but just trying to make things easier for everyone once the time does come.

I too mean no disrespect to your recently lost friend. It will pass in time. My heart goes out to you.
