I know the economy is going through a rough time, but how much , if i were to sell my 900, do u think would be a fair price( taking into account all the aftermarket accesories) I know i will lose money, but im just curious because someone offered me a "pretty good " amount for it, but the bike has sentimental value.

yea, i know. i ve invested a lot of time and money, but someone offered me $13k. If i did sell it at that price , i would lose too much $. Bottom line is is weigh 270 pounds, and my fat behind on the bike makes its slow. lol i need something more powerful like a V2K. Hopefully ill get my V-max next year, but i want a big displacement crusier.

First off NICE bike. Now I'm curious, Why would you consider selling after all that work? Do you need another project or are you lookin for a different type of bike alltogether? Good luck whatever you do. You did a great job on that scoot.

Pretty good as in good enough to walk away with enough digits to build a new one? I'd go for it. There's no reason to get sentimental over a bike when they keep making so many new ones... Smoke the guy out with a counter-offer that will separate the buyers from the dreamers. If he meets it, and you're feeling it, sell it. Your next bike will be even better.

And remember, this is the ABSOLUTE worst time to sell a bike! Cold (even cool) weather saturates the market every year!!!
You'll make more off it in the spring...

Today?
I don't think you'd even get 9 out of it. Aftermarket accessories rarely add much value at all. Major mods frequently reduce value.... in the case of yours, it would have to be a local buyer... or at least someone from a state that doesn't require turn signals. It is a very nice bike, and PERSONALLY I feel that it really is worth far more than a "new" Custom, but it might be hard to find a buyer willing to offer a fair price. Keep it and enjoy it for a few years... it won't depreciate as quickly as a stocker would, and maybe after 5 years you can still get 6k out of it.

Kidding... I know how you feel. I recently lost about 25 lbs. i now weigh what my license says... 235 lbs. Trying to lose another 20 by the end of the year. I haven't weighed 215 since high school. That bike is going to feel real nice by then. ![]()

13K for a 900 even with all the accessories you wouldn't be able to find any one else willing to give you that. SELL!!! Personally if I saw your add for 10K I'd laugh and say your nuts. Not trying to start anything but for 13K you need to sell before this guy comes to his senses.

Ok I just looked at the pics and your bike is sweet, truly a custom custom... 10 may not be asking too much with as much as you have into it, but I stand by what I said before. You will have a hard time finding someone to pay that.

Even at 270 I cant imagine you are having power problems. I weigh 230 and my girl weighs 115 and running double up we have a ton of power. I even have the scootworks front pulley installed.
I have stock pipes debaffled and my version of the redneck air mod and I have enough power to do anything I want. If your looking for more torque then yeah a bigger bike is what you want but over all I cant see the 900 being to small for a 270 lb man.

So that's OVER twice the weight when you factor in the extra 200 pounds of the 1600 over the 900... and the engine ain't twice the size.

+1 13K is a good offer for you. If you're not happy than I'd take that 13K and not look back. Good luck making your decision.
Oh and I hear you on being busy. I'm taking 17 credits and managing a furniture store right now. I'm lucky if I get 6 hours of sleep. Good thing school is only for a short time. |

I think the way the economy is going for used bikes, its a buyers market. I agree with Rich's statement. If you can get $13K for it, jump before they figure it out.

I thought you said "but IF someone offered me $13. I'd sell it at that price" Ya... above comments stand... I think 13k is a good offer. There's a Ness custom chopper in the Solvang MC museum. It was donated to the museum... the guy that donated it paid 15k for it, and it's a ground-up custom build based on a Softail frame... but it looks like something OCC turned out... I mean you could not strip the tins and wheels and replace them with Harley tins and wheels... the frame has been heaily chopped, stretched, and raked. The plaque on the display says that it was bought for HALF of what it cost to build. So if you really want to step up to a V2K... 13k will get you very close to being an owner... and WILL get you a "brand new" used one with low miles. But I can certainly understand, you've probably got 18k plus a LOT of labor wrapped up in that machine.
