Lightbulb VN900 Air box cover mod

Ok everyone will say OMG another one ...
But predfan2001 told me to do so 'cause he thinks I've done an incredible job ...

Inspired from posts in here I tried it myself and got a HD Air box insert of ebay
(due to some circumstances I paid only the half price (so US$ 14.95 plus 12 bucks shipping to downunder )
I cut out as much as I could (instead of just 2 inches) out of the OEM air box cover to get a really snug fit for the new cover / insert, made up an aluminium bracket, sealed everything with silicone and let it cure over night - I'm really happy with the result

so cost was > US$ 14.95 plus 12 .00 shipping, AU$ 5.00 for silicone (bracket somewhere in the shed )
AU$ 25.00 for the beers - hehehe

Cheap as chips - but very efective IMO !!

Thanks again to predfan2001 for advice and support !!

Cheers from downunder

That turned out great. I need to remount my cover like yours so it fits closer to the factory air cover.

Just leave 10 mm around the the cover size - should be enough to seal PLUS the inner silicone seal ! I cut the hole bigger and bigger and found to stop right there to have a really snug fit from the outer edge of the cover .... Have fun - you've got everything - just buy the beers !!

Cheers
