Thanks for the replies everyone. It looks like I'm going to go with the Corbin seat.
...now, I just have to offload this Mustang seat. Thanks for the links to the vendor and maintenance / FAQ sites. There's so much good information there that I haven't gotten any real work done in about 2 days! |

By the way, when you go to order the corbin, the online link doesn't work. You'll have to call them to place the order. |

Wow. Very nice. I love to see the finished product when a man "Makes a bike his own."
I've decided to go solo (Cheaper) for now. I'll likely put a bib on the rear fender with the stock seat (No upper / sissy bar.) That will cover the wiring, and the holes the upper mounted to. I'll get the Corbin seat by spring. I should have it painted by then. Anyone have a picture of a Flat Black one? You guys rock! Thanks again for all the info! I'd have been aimlessly wandering the net for days if it weren't for your suggestions. |

Corbin. I absolutely hate this seat with a passion. At around 9 months old, the lower leather started to fray nearby the battery covers, just because the leather is so tight around the seat frame. Corbin said this wasn't thier problem?!?! After 2yrs and 5K miles, it is still stupid uncomfortable. The seat is as hard as a rock. (Rear passenger is really soft though) I've tried everything to soften the leather, but it doesn't matter, the padding is still overstuffed and leather is to tight. I'm not a light guy either, it has NO give! I might as well be sitting on a bare seat pan. I've taken my wifes bike out a few times because I hate the corbin seat so much. After about 10 minutes on the corbin, I end up going numb. My friends have commented to me a few times how horrible my seat is. It might be tollerable if it had more back support. After paying $400+, I'm forced to use it because no other vendor supports this bike. I still keep my ears open for a leather craftsman who will take on a project like this. Between the stock fishing cushion, or Corbin, I'd rather have my stock seat again. |
