Default People Like You

Its mid afternoon, Im toolin down the service Road of I-45 in the Woodlands TX. Traffic is there but not heavy The service road is 3 lanes wide.
Woman in a Tahoe rolls out and is half in one lane and half in mine and then comes on into mine. I have to slam on the brakes they lock up and get a little sideways Tire squeels, Pretty hairy for a couple seconds, It was a very close call. Once Im well under control I swing my hand in the air as if to say W.T.F. and I speed up and pass her and as I glance over she is just smilin as big as Texas Talking on her God bless-ed Cell Phone. Totally Oblivious to what just happened.

So I decided to write a little poem to this Inattentive Sack of ____
-------------------------------------------------------------------

People LiKe you

People Like you,
Make me think that banning Cell phones while driving is a good idea

People Like you,
Are the reason my girlfriend hates me having a bike

People like you,
Are the reason my friend Willy Lost his Girl, his Career and his Equilibrium
Probably for the rest of his life
(him and his Electraglide hit by a young girl in a buick changing a CD)

My riding skills are Very good, I ride within my bikes limits, my limits and the
limits of Johnny Law. So If I ever crash, it will probably be because of
People like you.

I love riding, down to my bones. So much so Im willing risk having to share the road with Multi-Tasking Blabber mouths on Cell phones. Please share the
road and watch out for me and the other PEOPLE LIKE ME that love to ride.

I wonder all the time what is so important? What were you yapping about?
If I'd been 1 second ahead of where I was and you had caused me to crash
and I'd been injured or killed what would you have thought, Ooops. Would you have reasoned it away and buy that load of **** "People that ride Motorcycles Know its risky"

People like you,
**** me off.

It's people like her who cause road rage issues. Then, totally innocent drivers end up involved in a crash because of another driver's stupidity.

How about a zapper that we could use that would just simply make a siron noise in the ear?

Riding with my fiance the other day in town , 25 mph, this F-350 comes up beside us and decides that she wants to change lanes , and I happen to be right were she wants to go. Luckily she pulls back over before she slams into us. I pull up beside her she is on the phone. I just looked at her and shook my head, she kept right on talking and then makes a turn without her blinker on.

When you have people do careless things this, get their license plate and call 911, report it as reckless driving and if it gets followed up on maybe they would think about it next time.

it is a rare occasion that one gets to both read the motivation to and the product of such as the pome listed above....I almost feel like I was there when you were writing this little gem. I personally hate seeing the hour long conversations on the phone while people are driving oblivious to the outside world.

thanks for sharing your hair raising experience

Big John,

I drive that everyday. It is one of the reasons I havnt started riding my bike to work. Too many soccer-moms in suv's yappin on the cellphone. I prefer my big ol Chevy Truck. I-45 through Montgomery County is a real nightmare..........

Hopefully the comments made by our District Attorney Here will be true and us motorcyclist will get the help we deserve.....

I just had the same experience with a lady in a brand new Range Rover. I was watching her in the right lane and there was something about how she was driving that was bothering me. I actually slowed a little and just that momemt she moved left into my lane barely a foot from my front wheel. I gave her the horn and few other physical expressions on her lack of paying attention and driving skills. I take responsibility for my actions and know I have to be the one to watch out for others lack of paying attention. By watching and expecting the worse has saved me from becoming a statistic. It comes with wanting to ride a motorcycle.
