OK, so I am no Rocket Surgeon.
But went to replace spark plugs today. Front right and rear left were a breeze, but rear right and front left I could not get socket into hole. THese two have a allen head shaped sleeve around them. How does one who rides the short bus, such as me, replace theese two?? GS |

You have to use just a regular 18mm deep well socket. Most spark plug sockets won't fit down there.

As kingofwings said, the spark plug wrench that came with the bike will fit. I didn't want to dig out the tool kit each time and I'm a firm believer in using a torque wrench (especially on aluminum engines) so I went to the auto parts store & got a 18 mm deep socket (as Lattimer said). I got it for a 3/8" drive ratchet (not sure but the 1/2" drive size may be too big for the hole). Paid $3.60.

I use the spark plug tool the bike came with, along with a plain old ratchet & matching socket that fits over the end of the spark plug tool. Works well.
