Default any mean streaks with big bore kit?

Has anyone put a muzzy's big bore kit in their 1500? Just wondering if there are any issues or problems experienced with this setup? I just did mine and am kinda disappointed in the power increase experienced. Anybody else feel this way.

What did the kit include? I am guessing pistons, rings, maybe wrist pins. Did you get the cam? I have been curious on the performance increase as well. My guess is that to see a real increase, the heads are going to have to be ported or flowed as they call it now.

The kit included high compression pistons, rings, wrist pins. Yes the cams were changed and I had the heads done by Guy Mobbley, formerly from Sherms.

How much bigger was the bore? Were they the 792 grind cams from web cams?

You may not be getting the correct fuel amounts (need custom pc3 program) to get the most from the porting/cams??

..just curious.

Thunder manufacturing has done a lot of custom work on bb meanies (they did it on their own in house bike),and have some custom fuel curves, etc for the pc 111 and others.

How much was the kit. I think the best way to get the most performance from your Meanie would be with a Mr. Turbo. One of those will get you up and over V2k perfomance and without the extra weight.

the kit thunder mfg. or muzzy offer for the 1500 mean streak is 1570cc which is a bit larger than the stock 1600 which is 1553 i think also they are 10:1 pistons instead of the stock9:1 so it is a slight increase thunder has hp and torque curves to look at on their sight

ok, so if you do all that and the compression goes to 10:1 how does that effect your redline ??

Gearing is gearing so I'd expect it would just redline much faster

Man I would love to get nos on my MS. I have never experienced a shot of nos in any vehicle though and the thought of hitting that button is very exciting/scary. A nice pair of polished bottles would certainly add to the look of the down tubes, or maybe they would look better on the fender struts. Hmmm.

I was in North Carolina asking Lee Sherts of Lee Performance about engine mods for the 1600 and he recommended NOS. This guy does some incredible work on sportbikes including some 200 mph+ ones. I've been thinking about taking him up on it. Once I have my hardbags installed I'll have a great place to mount a bottle =P

i saw one for the Nomad on Thunder's site and the kit was about $1000 plus whatever the machine work would cost. for the cost, the power numbers that they were showing were pretty impressive, but i was leary so i didn't do it. if the turbo wasn't so much, that would be the route i would go. the thing with the big bore is you start running into the water jets and reliability becomes an issue. that is the only reason i did not do anything to the Nomad, reliability is too important, especially when i am going on a 5000 mile plus trip.
