Put risers on and I need to reroute the clutch cable. How do I undo/release it so I can reroute?
>>>UPDATE>>> Figured it out.
Got an ebay set of 2 inch spacers/risers coming and am wondering about the cables. How to rerout the clutch cable, do I rerout with cable attached or do I have to detach it first? And the brake cable is looking to be a little short too. What did you do with that one? Thanks
Do you really have to drain the carb? Or, does fuel stabilizer keep it from gumming up?
I was thinking about adding it into every tank from here on (so it is definitely in the carb) because I don't know how much I'll be able to ride from here on.
Winter is a comin......CRAP!
Greetings, all! I've been toying with the idea of swapping out the bars on my 2008 VN2K.
I know that many of the collective have gone to ape hangers, which I am considering, but has anyone put a drag bar on a V2K? I commute on one of the worst freeways in the nation (SoCal...91 E/W from...
Hi, first post and new rider here. I have a 1998 Vulcan 500 and I am interested in getting straight bars for the bike. I like that look.
The question is will these work?
Drag bars | eBay...
Starting my build this winter to change the classic into a "fat bike" with a 240 rear end and one of the first things i would like to do is to trade (plus $ if required) my classic controls and boards for a set of VN 900 Custom controls and pegs.
So if anyone of you custom riders that are...
I have been interested in changing my stock seat since it's very uncomfortable and pushes me up on the tank. I saw the earlier post on the $13 seat and it looks like a good idea if you want to use the same seat pan.
I'm also interested in making my own seat pan but don't have much info. I have...

The spot lights on the bar are aimed up. They won't tilt down.
This is an OEM light bar, so I figured they are supposed to be this way.
Does anyone else have any suggestions to get them to point down?:icon_frow
Sorry I've been gone so long, but with no working comp, it's hard to type comments on a cell phone.
This problem leaves me no choice, just gotta plow my way through it.
A few weeks ago I tore my bike apart to add a few mods. So the other day I start putting it back together and hit the start...
2009 Vulcan 900 with less than 2000 miles on it.
Bulbs and fuses all checked and good.
Key In Start Position:
Headlight won't work.
Right blinkers work front and back.
Left blinkers won't work front and back.
Front yellow lights working (blinker not on).
Hi Guys, went out yesterday to start Bertha VN800 A2 hit the start button and a bump ,well a thud like sound hit the button again and the same... Then Panic, i thought the engine had locked up then looking down the carb side lots of fuel on c/case, so on the spot tank off, plugs out, carb also,...
I am new to this forum and look forward to the helpful info here. I just bought a 2010 Classic 1700 and wish to buy a windshield.
The quick release model is listed at 23", but the standard windshield is listed at 21" I dont really need a 23" windshield but like the idea of a quick release.
Hello. I bought a 2008 Nomad with 5000km on it and the left rear shock (I think) is leaking pretty bad.
It drips onto my muffler and smokes, so I think it is the shock and not the final drive.
Progressive does not make air shocks for the 1600 Nomad.
What is cheaper, two progressive rear...
Wore out my OEM Dunny at 9600 miles and replaced it with this Altimax. Current mileage:
And a couple of pics of the tire:
Hey, new to forums so please bear with me:
I just switch from rice burners to my V2K. I would like to get an aftermarket exhaust but it's been difficult narrowing the brands. Does anyone have a recommendation? Threw my research I cannot find a specific brand that best suits up with the V2K....
Installed cobra speedster shorts, cobra Fi2000r and a kuryakyn hypercharger on an '07 vulcan 1600 classic. Started the bike up and it's idle is crazy high!! I can smell hints of gas in the exhaust fumes which tells me that it is not getting enough oxygen...right? Any help would be much...
I originally posted this in the Project forum:
This morning didn't start out too well. I left the house headed to work and it started raining about a mile from the house. I couldn't turn around because my new truck is at the dealer for repairs and my wife is out of town, only thing to drive is the bike. I was almost there about a mile from work...
So, I'm breezing along with this install and I get to the part where I'm putting it back together.
Instructions say "use supplied nuts and bolts and to mount the bar under the windshield and headlamp brackets" but no mention of the spacer that came with the light bar bolts.
anyone know where...
