I just returned from Deals Gap and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Seven of us rode up and there and had a blast. The views and the riding in north Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee were spectacular to say the least. The entire trip was around 1000 miles of riding.

There have been quite a few threads questioning required octane for bikes. I'm of the opinion that following OEM recommendations is best. I've run nothing but the least expensive 87 octane in my 9 custom since day one. I have no allegiance to any brand of gas...per gallon price is my bottom...
I have a 2002 vn800a and it has stock pipes with the baffles still in em. When I bought it, it had the paper filter in it. So I bought a K&N and put in it. Now when I ride it kinda lunges at slow speeds and sometimes when I shift it will bog down then take off. So whats goin on?? I cleaned the carb...
I was riding the other day with a group of 20 or so bikes. As we were coming off the expressway I went to downshift and my shifter just keep going down down down.
Turns out one of the bolts holding on the foot peg assembly had vibrated out and the other was loose so the hold thing was rotating...

I picked up a cheap tach from autozone designed for cars. Does anyone know if generic automotive tachs can operate on bikes? If so, which wire do I need to tap into for the signal?
I would like to try the Caddmann air mod using two 8 1/2 inch filters/covers on my carbed 1500. When I bought the bike last month, it already had the V&H 2 into 1 pro-pipe on it. I have not removed the carb to see what jets or needle setting they (dealer) used for that installation as of yet....
I have seen it mentioned in a couple of threads where people use Seamfoam fuel additive. Can anyone tell me if they run it in their bikes and why? If so, how much do you put in the tank. My 900 has a 5.3 gallon tank. Just curious on what the benefits may be before I spend 9.00 on a bottle.
I have a VN800 2004 with 13k miles. I need to replace the chain, but was wondering if I should replace the sprockets as well? I noticed from a number of posts that I should go with an X over an O ring chain? Any advice is appreciated. Ken
Has anyone mounted a Cobra tach to PhatRisers on a 900 Classic? I'm not sure if it will mount up with aftermarket risers or if it will can you still see the face of the guage ok. It looks like the face would be angled down a good bit with the PhatRisers. If anyone could provide pics with the...
I finally finished. No more mods for me...no way!!
I put these 3 1/2" RoadBurner Double Eagle pipes on today, and they sound better than I hoped. They're quiet enough to sneak out at night...at an idle it's a deep rumble...and they shake the rafters once you hit the throttle.
My father was following me the other day, on his VTX1300 (can't keep up!). I hammered on it a few times, and he said there was a noticeable amount of black smoke that came out, like it was overfueling fairly heavily. Not being able to see it myself, and not trusting my dad to ride the bike...

I have a Vulcan 900 with Cobra Slashdowns and the FI2000 Fuel Processor. My question is, tomorrow I am getting the Barons Big Air Kit installed, do I change my FI2000 settings back to Cobra Factory Settings of 4-2-2 to compensate for the increased air flow? Currently I have changed them to 2-1-1...

How did you attach them to the swing arm? I got how the rear most bracket would work but how would I attach it to the front most part of the swing arm under the seat area?
