Default KX250 Engine rebuild: stock vs. Wiseco?

I'm planning a top end only (piston and rings) rebuild and was not sure of the right parts to use. I'm primarily interested in engine longevity and reliability. I am essentially a recreational rider, I do not race and would like to avoid future breakdowns or other mechanical problems. When asking the folks who race they recommend Wiseco for performance, however the stock kx250 already has enough power to blow me away. Disreguard the extra $35 in costs for factory OEM parts. Any advice would be apprecicated. Thank-you.

if the nickelsil is in good shape and you can get away with just running a BALL HONE thru it to clean it up/re-hatch it then just go with stock parts.

QKENUF4U (BTK Phd),

Thanks, I appreciate the input. It is indeed an electro-fusion (nickel I think?) cylinder that is (according to the manual) non-borable and non-honable. However, I've been reading that some superficial honing would be alright. I have not yet taken it apart, it's running fine, but hope to start sometime this month.
Thanks again!
