Default 09 kxf250 setup 150lb rider

i have 09 kxf250 ,i need suspension setup for a 150lb rider, the kid is 15yrs old just coming off a 85cc, are the stock springs too stiff?? thanks a bunch skip

most bikes are set up for 165lbs riders stock off the showroom floor so he should be good. whats he using it for full on racing or riding freestyle?

he will be racing motocross,he has done a few races,i want to get the bike set up right so he can learn safetly,what sag would you use? what should we set the shocks and forks at. we are kinda new to this and need some numbers to start with, thanks skip

ok now you want roughly 30 mm sag in the rear but the bike should sag a little under its own weight so mesure what it is with no wieght then have your son sit on it and it should be around 30mm. does he wiegh 150 normal or 150 with all his gear?

oh is he a beginner or can he ride like really ride? too stiff and hes gonna fly over the bars but the stock set up sounds almost perfect for your son just check the sag and let me know

There's a great article on the Race Tech site on how to check and set the sag, then use those numbers to help determine the correct shock spring.

run stock settings on rebound , compression for now .
100mm of sag and he should be fine .
