    Default 1982 KDX80 Carb issues

I bought a KDX 80 off a guy for $100. He put $400 into it. Boared it out, New pistons. I put a new coil, and a new plug in. He told me the crank seals are bad. We get it apart and find out that the key had been sheared for the flywheel for the crankshaft. Fix that. And now It starts every so often. I've still never ridden it.
The thing is. It starts everytime I take the carb off and clean it, but when I put it back on and kick it, I always forget to turn the fuel on. So it will start, run, and sound great. But then I'll turn the fuel on and it won't kick over once. The fuel is good. Mixed right, 50:1.
I think it may be being flooded. Any suggestions?
Could the possibilities be the carb? The Reeds?

    I finally rode it!!
I figured out that when you put the slide into the top of the carb,
your not supposed to just be able to see the needle. I was just sticking it in and pushing the hell out of it and screwing it down. Making it full throttle all the time. But also, my friend has a 1980 KDX80 and when I rode that, it seemed like it had alot more balls than mine. I don't know why mine seems like it just doesn't want to move as well. Brand new pistons and rings, boared out.
    New spark plug.
But when I took the case apart I made new gaskets that go between the case around the cylinder. My dad told me I would lose some compression if it's a little bit thicker than the original. Could this be the issue?

Also, if anyone has any parts for a 1982 KDX80. Let me know.
I could use: rear fender, side covers, air box, the screw that holds the casing of the throttle cable in the top of the slide.
