Yes ! FW weights add relaxed rotational torque down low in the RPM's, and also smooth out the 2 stroke "hit". Prefect for someone who does a lot of trail riding, or even someone who is a newer rider struggling, trying to utilize too much "pipey" engine power. You do NOT loose any hp with a FW weight, you actually extend the engines' overrev from the stored rotational rpms near redline. I have a whopping 15 oz. weight on my KX500 and I absolutely love it. It's a big advantage for me out on the ice in the winter !

I agree with Polar Bus. If you plan on buying one for your bike and sticking with woods or hill climbs its definately going to give you good results. You will definately feel a difference as stated above and your bike's power output will become more linear in feel thus making it easier to ride and adjust to in tight technical sections. I have used one on a 2003 RM250 with great results, I was using that bike for MX and the ability of the power to come on linear and not as abtrusive kept the rear wheel tractable in all conditions and that is what the bike needed. Once I moved to the Kawasaki I have know I had no need for the weight due to the less mid range hit the 250 produces. So all in all it depends on your aplication and what you plan to use it for.
