2001 Kawasaki KX85 -107cc ported Big Bore kit (lukes racing) -Vforce reeds -Pro Circuit Pipe -Pro circuit silencer -Twin air filter -EBC Clutch -Excel Rims (Black) -Wave Rotor Front -13T Front & 51T Rear Renthal sprockets -Michelin Race tires -Renthal bars -Graphic kit with Gripper seat cover What do you think? This stuff in not cheap!! want to make sure its a good combo. |

PC makes alot of hp, but the "peak" hp is generally way up in the rpms.
We have tried the PC, the pipe makes power, no doubt. If you are looking for just "peak" hp, thats your pipe. The the FMF SST pipe ,although it doesnt make the big up top power gain of the PC , has a gain all the way across the power band. It is much more forgiving . For most kids , this transfers into faster lap times. I have also found getting the suspension setup correctly does more to make you a "fast" bike ,or should i say "faster on your bike", than any power enhancing product. This is of course if you are relating "fast" to mx track fast, or "drag race" fast? I have seen many kids show up at the races on totally "bad-arszz" bikes, just to chase kids on "stockers" , just because they didnt have a useable power band or suspension setup for their skill level. Food for thought ?? |

you are right about the right about the suspention set up.....working on that next. I picked up an FMF fatty pipe in mint condition as well off ebay for like $60. So I will have both to compare.
Stock for stock the ktm is probably faster BECAUSE it comes with the race parts from the factory, but once they are all modded they are pretty equal........ Its more about Rider skill than the bike itself. I am also considering a Vortex ignition system....... is it worth the $350 price tag? I know its mostly rider that will do it, BUT I want to give him the best tools to work with. |

The fatty is more of a low end pipe, the "woods" guys and the "arenacross" guys love it.
I wouldnt hesitate saying the KTM is faster stock, until 06 that is, I dont know if we just got lucky and ended up with 2 "bullets" or what. But the 06's we have were nite and day faster than the 05 and 04 they replaced? Maybe we got 2 team green prepped bikes by accident!! LOL |

Kool, well the local class that we are running is more based on age, and will let your run what you bring, so im hoping the ported 107cc Big Bore will give my 11 year old an advantage as far as the bike goes, the rest is up to him. he will be up against some heavily modded bikes...ktm's, YZ's, etc.....
The bike needd a new top end, andit wasnt much more to just have it bored, so I wne tfor it. |

Well I got the big bore kit back from Lukes Racing and the workmanship looks good. I sent a 2001 old looking cylinder and I got back a brand new looking cylinder, head, new bolts, studs, ported big bore with new piston, and all the accesories needed to put it together. Also picked up a bored out stock carb off ebay. hope this makes the big power im hoping it will alond with the Vforce and PC Pipe/silencer.
