Default Some side to side play in wheel : bearings?

hey guys , i am having a problem with my bike that i can not figure out for the life of me lol , if i grab my rear tire i can shake it side to side about a couple mm , not to much but its def there , i was wondering , is it my bearings? cause i know when i put my tire back together all my shims and spacers were marked so that went together right , so i was thinking either bearings or something to do with the swingarm , and how do i check to know for sure , take tire off and have a look and see if the swingarm itself moves side to side ? , and if it does what would i do then ?

grab the top and bottom or front and rear of the tyre (bike on stand, rear wheel off ground) if the play is around the axle then its the wheel bearings. If you can move the wheel side to side via the swing arm then its the swing arm bearings. if the swing arm bearings are shot then I would also look at checking the suspension linkage bearings as well. I found that if using a pressure cleaner and a lot of mud riding then you should repack the bearings frequently and they should last a long time. I use belray waterproof grease.
A previous bike I had the spacer bar between the wheel bearings missing. It destroyed the bearings in no time.

If the wheel seems to be solid check the spokes, if they are loose the tire and rim will move but the hub will be solid.
