Default crank seals

would you have to split the case on an 03 kx 125 to do the crank seals becuse one looks popped out of place and would like to replace it i didnt see any lip to hold it there, and would it lean out, backfire and foul plugs if one was a little out of place because it did that and then it just quit.

Yes the engine cases need to be split to install new seals. If a seal is blown out then there is another underlying problem. While your in there you might as well replace the crank bearings and check for other issues.

+1 Bad main bearings is the number one cause of bad main seals, that is next to improper installation.

It sounds like faulty installation may apply here.

Is there supposed to be a certain gap left on those?

well me and my mechanic had it apart to put new gear in tranny it ran great when it went bak together but bout a week after it started to act up so i took the side cover and clutch off and revealed it was out of place, i gave the carb to my mech and he bumbed the jets up but before i put it back together i hit that seal back in to place then put the carb back on ran good but a lil rich so put stock jets back in and runs good so im thinkin it was that seal just poped out of place
