I need some advice, i'm not much a mechanic and don't know what is wrong.
Bike was behaving great for a couple of hours, i was taking it way too easy though due to riding with my kids on their atv. 100 yards from the truck we stopped for a second to talk, the bike died and wouldn't restart. This has happened before because of my slow riding and i fixed it by taking the cylinder head off and cleaning the gunky oil out of the valve so it would move freely. Doing that again did not fix this problem. I put in a new plug and took the carb out and sprayed it clean, after a bit the bike started then died again, i got it restarted later and it ran fine except for when i let off the gas then it died and took 5 mins to get it restarted, then it ran fine until i came to a stop again and the bike died and now won't restart. I kick and kick and all that happens is it periodically (for lack of a better description) farts out the exhaust. It seems to me like i have some sort of carb issue but i have no idea how they actually work lol, I do have a diagram of the carb so i'll know what you're talking about if you can describe some things to try. Any help would be appreciated. btw, this is a 125cc Last edited by used98KX : 02-20-2005 at 04:55 PM. |

being two stroke have the compression checked. sounds like the top end is gone.
also like stated above, might be worth your time to pull the carb down and clean the jets/internals. also make sure the air filter is clean, make sure the exhaust isnt plugged up somehow, make sure you have spark |
