Red face kx 80 top end engine rebuild

hey everyone that is reading this i have just bought a 1987 kx 80 mono shock of course and water cooled but i need to rebuild the engine and i have the gaskets and i am going to buy a piston and rings and every thing else my brother is going to be in summer school a lot of this summer and i dont know what i am doing so can you help me tell me what to do and dont tell me bs

gman, buy a manual. If you already have 1, follow it. When you take parts off put in baggies and label them. Make sure the bike is clean before you do anything. And when you get the cylinder off stuff a CLEAN rag around the crank rod. And take your time.

hey im not that young and he is the one that drives his dirt bike to school i think he drives like 5 miles or something but it is funny

hey man yea i would use the manuel but i dont have one and i cant find one i dont know what year my bike is either a 1983 to 1988 but i dont know exact year

Well, guess your in the right place. 10th digit of the serial number on the frames head tube will tell you what year it is. Go to KDXGarage he has a vin list on there. Then you can order the manual. You are gonna need it for torque specs as well as knowing what service limits are on certain parts.

i did go to your link and just so you know when i posted that last one i was looking at the code back words and when i spun around it said e1 and when i looked again it said 83

yer i got a kx85 it gose fast i just looked at this i thought it is good so i made a name on it i do motor cross i think kx are the best brand ever!

Smile kickstart

the spring that makes my kickstart recoil has come out of place and i do not now how to remove it or how to put it back in place the motorbike is a Kx80 1989-91 big whell does anybody now how to fix this problem??
