Hi, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY SONS KX85, you Could Start At The Coil And Check It With An Ohm Meter.you Will Need Repair Manual Cos This Will Have Test Procedure And Correct Ohmage Readings.if Ok Then Move To Stator, again Refer To Manual For Procedure.by Far The Best Way To Sort Electrical Problems Is To Replace With A Part You Know Is O.k But This Is Not Always Possible Unless You Have Someone With Same Bike That Doesnt Mind You Trying! I Ended Up Fitting New Stator Plate. I Wish You Luck, electrical Problems Suck!

Yes electrical problems do suck. I do have the factory manaul. Just got it. I wil check the coil & stator. I don't think I can check the cdi as I dont' have the special tool required. And I don't have known good parts to try. I will get reading & get back.

Does anyone know if changing the entire electrical system(flywheel, stator, cdi, coil) from my 1991 with one from say a 1992, 93, 94 etc. will work? And if so are there any modifications needed? Has anyone done this succesfully? Thanks again.

Please tell me you've checked the connections. Especially the boot.

Try Cleaning The Carb. Remove It . Disasemble Jets, Make Sure You Can See Thru Them. I Find When Mine Get Dirty I Have A Hard Time Starting Any Bike. It's Usually 1 Grain Of Sand In The Little Jet That Has The Tube With All The Little Holes In It. Found That To Be The Case On Hondas, Yamahas Too. Good Luck

Go out to monmouth county dude. hit farmingdale and howell township. I use to live in lakewood/howell border right on squankum road. I was a little kid, terrorizing my neighborhood on my yz125 10 years ago. freewood acres has good riding too. in lakewood, theres the ledgandary kawasaki trails, its out past the railroad tracks in the wood across from joda and apollo. next to JCP&L building. haha. if you want to know some more sweet spots to ride in central jersey, hit me up bro. laterZ

Thanks to all who posted. I have not solved the problem yet. However I ihave not even had the chance to even try & start it. Just too busy. I will keep you posted when I can.

Green blur. I live in Manchester and my I work in Toms River sort of. I start my day there then head up north. I have been working crazy long hours between civilian & military jobs. It would really be cool if you could come take a look.

As far as the cops I know what you mean. I used to ride at Asarco. But have heard the cop stories as of late. I heard about that person you know that got killed. Sorry about that. Get back to me and may be we can set something up. My name is Chris the way
