Default kx250 idling problems

gday guy i have a 2000 kx250 it usally turns it self of straight away if im not giving it any gas. have talked to a few mates and they think it just cause it a x motorcross bike is this true or wot can i do to make it better.

did you try to adjust the idle screw?

yeah dude pleanty comppression and if idle screw screwed in it idles but way to much like really high reves. i want low revs and crisp or something. any other ideas

Its jetted incorrectly.....has a vaccuum leak, or the carbs gummed up, or your ignition is too weak at an idle.....thats if the compression is good of course.

i had same problem on my 1999, an all it was, was 1 of the breather pipes had come off, put it back on an worked a treat, might sound daft but worth a look?
