Default Wondering whats the best oil for the base of 84 KDX 80

I have been told from the dealer here to put 10w30 but I put some in and it seems too thin...I was also told from my friend that when he raced he was putting 80w90 motocross gear oil...but he had a new bike and stuff and then I was told to go with 10w40 or 20w50 ....I really need a good oil for the base thanks

You may want to consider buying a owner's / service manual for it.

What makes you think 10w30 is too thin?

IMHO.... nothing to thin about it but being theres alot of gears flying around in there i want something a bit better than motor oil that actually has some shear strength to protect trans gears.
