Default in need of major help with 1984 kdx 200

so i have a 1984 kdx, that has a dead spot in the midrange exceleration. It has had this problem since day one, I have rebuilt the top end, rebuilt the carb, redid the exhaust, new reeds, new airfilter, and after all of this, i still have a spot in the midrange that it doesn't run properly at. Does anyone have any ideas for this. I have been told at this point that it may be that the cylinder is worn (not likely but am grasping at this point). I could really use some advise for this.

Did you rejett the carb and put the clip where it needs to be etc?

Or just rebuild it.

Also its old, so parts caould be warn in the carb.

So what did you replace in the carb?

i had the carb rebuilt at a local shop, they assured me that it was cleaned up, a jet replaced etc. So when it didn't work, i borrowed my friends carb also off a 84 kawasaki 200 kdx (which runs perfect) and tried it and it still ran really poorly with the same lag, but thanks for the imput but i am pretty sure that the carb (s) are ok.
