1999 KX125 not starting.

Hi to all technical experts first and foremost. This bike stalled on me about a couple of weeks ago and since then does not want to start. Have clean the carb, change the plug, repack the silencer, fresh gas and clean the air filter. The mechanic working on it also told me that he checked the compression and is still good. Plug sparks blue but will only give a short backfire when kickstarting. What could be wrong with it? Any and all help/tips on what to do will be much appreciated.

My friend an yz 80 it had the same problem. We took it to an mechanic and he said that I need an hole new top end and something with the coil (it had an lot of slack to it cause ran straight gas in it)

If you have good compression, good spark & clean carb, maybe check your timing.

What is you mechanic calling good compression?

if it was the timing.. would it have started in the first place?
