Question Top end on KX80...and still probs...Powerband What??

Ran bike again today....3rd time since top end rebuild.....(I have another thread with more info if reading this-1day ago)......so, now....it doesn't smoke as much, but it doesn't want to idle, will die if let it. But wow....first time on a dirt bike and I now know what powerband is....winding out a little in 2 or 3rd gear and up went the front end...I was like o boy!!!.
If anyone has any advice on my idling issues, I'd appreciate it.
But so far really liking the ride of a 2 stroke.

Hey, thanks for the reply.....sorry I didn't make myself clear on the other post....when adjusting the idle screw....I meant turning it clockwise all the way in.....when I took the carb back off...I checkd this and the idle screw controls the throttle valve, it does move up and down when adjusting the idle screw. So yea.....it's all the way in.
I ran it again yesterday....and when it warmed up...it kinda idled....but gave it throttle and let go, it dies. Thanks

Try messing with your air screw as well. The Idle and the air screw usually work in tandem when it comes to idle and richness of mixture. If that doesn't work get a rebuild kit for the carb!

What year is your bike? You could have a number of thing causing it not to idle properly. bad reeds bad jetting for the pipe and silencer (given they aren't stock from start to finish). Try turning the air screw out some more until it reaches a high idle (on its own) and start working it back in

It is a 94 kx80 with a fmf fatty pipe and boyesen rad valve.....I only know this because I have done lots of looking on the net and email...
Just so ya know yesterday, with the idle screw all the way in after it got warm and i pushed the choke starter back in it actually idled, not that good but it did. I think its rich...going to measure float today and check clip position....if stock at 4 going to put to 3rd from top. Thanks will post later to say what I found.
Thanks

Alright..so I moved the clip from the 4th notch to the 3rd(could not believe how small that thing is, need like a magify glass)And measured the float-perfect....and adjusted the pilot air too. Now after bike warmed up alot less smoke except when on the throttle. I'm waiting for parts for both calipers...rebuilding them, so have to test higher throttle range later. Thanks
