Please help...I am totally new to motorcycles. I was given this old bike and had a lot of fun on it for 2 days...then it died. I was riding it and it started to sputter and lose power then stalled. It won't run ever since. Sometimes it will start up and blow smoke for like ten seconds before stopping.
In playing with it, I noticed there was a few spoonfuls of gas in the bottom of the exhaust pipe. Hmmm I thought...problem with carb. So I pulled the carb out and sprayed it down with carb cleaner. Everything looked ok, but it still won't start. How do I tell if something is wrong in the carb? What else should I check? Oh, yeah, compression seems good, and I'm assuming spark is OK because it runs for ten seconds sometimes. Help! |
