2002 kx 85 brakes

I change my 2002 kx 85 brake fluid and then i put more in there my back brakes did not work why is that? My brake pads are all good.

Did you bleed the air out of the system?

Take the reservoir cap off. Make sure it is full of fluid. Pump the brake handle or peddle whichever you are doing. Hold it or have someone hold it for you, then crack the bleeder valve open. Fluid will squirt out so it is a good idea to attach some clear tubing to it and have it go into a can or something. Then close the bleeder valve quickly. The clear tubing will allow you to see any air bubbles getting pushed outta the system. Do this a couple of times and check the fluid level in the reservoir. Always make sure the is plenty in there if it runs out you have let air into the system. When you are done put reservoir cap back on, then zip ty your brake lever to the throttle for the night. This will help get any of the air to rise up into the reservoir. remove in the morning and test them out.
There are other ways but that is if you are limited on tools. Brake bleeder pumps work, found at most auto parts stores. 100 cc syringe pushing fluid through the system works great on the back brakes. Always make sure the reservoir has fluid in it. that is where having a buddy around is handy.
