KX250 1992/3 cylinder/barrel compatability

Hi Guys,
Quick question, what year engine cylinder/barrel are compatible with a 1992/3 KX250? i remember reading that somewhere up to a 1995-8 would fit but i need to know if there are differences between the models although the outsides look identical.

You may want to compare the power valve systems, as one thing to check.

dont really help that much. i can see the cylinder heads are different as in the coolant ports through the head but would that be a major issue? i have asked some local kawasaki dealers down here in Aus but no one can give me a definate answer.
also one other thing, what is the thread size of the left hand thread on the flywheel kx250 93? the tool i need is a 57001-252 but now being aftermarket it'd just be easier to tell them what thread it has.

well guys after months of research on the topic i have found out that anything from a 92-04 bare barrel assy will fit and basically you have to swap over your powervalve system. It's only taken me 12 months but i've solved it,,, i think
