Hi all, i just bought a 2001 KMX 125 thats been used off road for a while i'm hoping to get it back on the road and MOT'd. i have a few questions as it's been a while since i've had a 2 stoke bike
I got a replacement big one down pipe exhaust off ebay and when i tried to fit it it looks very differnt from the original the bush on the exhaust doesn't seem to it into the bore of the barrel, the gut who i got it off swears blind that it's off a kmx and he said i need a thicker gasket. anyone had any experinces like this? thanks |

yes there was a big one set up bodged to my kmx as well it didnt fit ad was rusty so i cut it halfway round the second bend (bottom bend when on bike) to repair the engine end section
when i put it back together the cut went back in the same place but the frame mount hole was way off so i had to make a new bracket to mount it. the exhaust can (big one) did not mount very well so i had to bend the pipe on that to make it fit. even after carfully positioning the exhaust the top section of the exhaust is very close to the tank, battery, brake resevior and cover panel so i wraped it in exhaust heat wrap just to make sure.... hope this helps |
